Board of Supervisors

The Board of Supervisors is the governing body of the local government for the county.
Newton County is divided into five districts or beats in which each district elects a supervisor to serve a four year term. The board is the chief policy making and administrative body of the local county government. Board meetings are held twice each month and meetings are open to the public. Supervisors are responsible for much more than road construction and maintenance as they play an integral role in the local county government.
